From The New World in Images
Symphony No. 9 e-minor op.95
For many a long month Tobias Melle travelled by bike through America, in order to take in the broad vistas of the South-West, the traditions and customs of the Native Americans, not to forget the glass and steel of the skyscrapers in the great cities. And it was to Dvorak he turned for musical inspiration.
Melle’s photos open up the score, allowing the audience to experience the new and the unknown in a work that has been heard so often. In this performance, the musical adventurer will gain an entirely new insight into the New World.
